Markisic Named NAIA Women's Basketball All-American

SHREVEPORT, La. – LSU Shreveport women's basketball standout Selma Markisic has been named an NAIA All-American Second Team selection, capping off one of the most decorated individual seasons in program history.
Markisic, a graduate guard, was also named the Red River Athletic Conference (RRAC) Player of the Year, highlighting her dominance throughout the 2025–26 campaign. She earned All-RRAC honors and was named RRAC Tournament MVP, leading the Pilots to a conference tournament championship.
On the court, Markisic delivered elite production across the board. She appeared in 31 games and averaged 17.7 points per game, totaling 583 points on the season, while shooting 43 percent from the field, 34.3 percent from three-point range, and 60 percent from the free throw line.
She helped guide LSU Shreveport to a 28-5 overall record, including a 20-2 mark in RRAC play, as the Pilots captured both the RRAC Regular Season Championship and RRAC Tournament Championship.
On the national stage, LSUS earned a No. 7 seed in the NAIA Women's Basketball National Championship Tournament and advanced to the second round, finishing among the top teams in the country.
Markisic also etched her name in the LSUS record books, becoming the program's all-time leader in career steals (166) while also breaking the career three-point record (92 three pointers), solidifying her legacy as one of the most dynamic guards in school history.
Throughout the season, she showcased her ability to take over games and lead in key moments, serving as the driving force behind one of the most successful seasons in program history.
